Big Island Area Guide
Discover the Largest & Most Ecologically Diverse Island of the Hawaiian Islands

Kona District of Big Island
Our Big Island vacation rentals are located in Big Island’s Kona District, so we wanted to give it a special shoutout here. Kona spans approximately two-thirds of Big Island’s western side, and it includes many beautiful beaches and other popular attractions. Plus, the area is famous for producing some of the world’s richest and tastiest coffee – Kona Coffee.
Offshore, the waters of the Kona Coastline are crystal-clear and abundant with sealife. The clear and calm waters are due to the large Maunaloa volcano blocking winds from the east. This makes Kona an exceptional spot for water activities such as boating, snorkeling and scuba diving. You will often find dolphins and green sea turtles swimming around this area, and you can take night boating or dive tours to spot squadrons of manta rays.
